Special Journal Issue on Recent Developments of Orthopedic and Dental Implants
The ASME Journal of Engineering and Science in Medical Diagnostics and Therapy is accepting manuscripts for a special issue on “Recent Developments of Orthopedic and Dental Implants.”
The ASME Journal of Engineering and Science in Medical Diagnostics and Therapy is currently accepting manuscripts for a special issue focusing on the topic “Recent Developments of Orthopedic and Dental Implants.” Authors who are interested in having their manuscripts included in the special issue, to be published in August 2023, should submit their manuscripts by January 1, 2023.
The goal of this special issue is to present an intriguing overview of current research in the field of orthopedic and dental biomechanics. Orthopedic and dental implants have been used and studied for many years for the replacement of missing functions due to traumas and age-related deficiencies. It has been well known that the success of orthopedic and dental implants is heavily dependent on biomechanical stability and long-term osseointegration due to optimal stress distribution in the surrounding bones. For this reason, the development of orthopedic and dental implants by searching for rational solutions to reduce these stresses has become an important issue in this field. Therefore, recent developments of implant design, materials development, manufacturing technology, and computational techniques can play a vital role in orthopedic and dental implantology.
Manuscripts to be included in the special issue are limited to these topic areas: implants design; surface treatment on implants; fatigue failure of implants; bone resorption; corrosion and wear resistance of implants; stress shielding; and bone cements.
Manuscripts should be submitted electronically to the journal by January 1, 2023, via Journals Connect at journaltool.asme.org. Authors who have an account should log in as an author to their ASME account. Authors who do not have an account should sign up for an account. Authors should select “ASME Journal of Engineering and Science in Medical Diagnostics and Therapy” and then select the special issue “Recent Developments of Orthopedic and Dental Implants.” Papers received after the deadline or papers not selected for inclusion in the special issue may be accepted for publication in a regular issue.
